Therapy
What is Therapy? My therapy room is a safe space into which you can bring anything you want to talk about without fear of judgement or criticism. This might be something that originates from the past or something that is currently troubling you. It may just be a sense that all is not well. Whatever it is, my therapy room is a safe confidential space to explore those thoughts and feelings together. And my kettle is always on.
Where I work
I believe that finding the right environment in which to face our sadness, fear and uncertainty or just to contemplate what is not always clear to us, is key to a successful therapy journey. I have a warm and comfortable therapy room in a peaceful setting. Working in nature can also sometimes provide a very good environment for therapy, especially if being inside has not always historically been safe. I am based in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds and am happy to negotiate outside therapy providing it is safe to do so.
Confidentiality and GDPR
With some exceptions which I will make clear at our first meeting, our therapy or supervision sessions will be completely confidential. I am professionally bound and guided by robust guidelines produced by my governing body the UKCP and I will take responsibility for keeping your data safe. I do discuss some cases in my own private clinical supervision sessions which I attend monthly. I make every attempt to anonymise information shared with my supervisor, who is bound by the same professional confidentiality clauses as my own.
Cost
I charge £60 per hour for both therapy and clinical supervision. I charge £65 per hour for EMDR. Whilst I do not currently run any groups I am happy to consider the potential for small group supervision opportunities. My private practice working day is a Thursday.
Contact
If you are unsure about therapy, please don’t worry. I’m happy to have an initial chat on the phone which may help to allay your fears and during which I can answer any questions or queries you may have about the process. It is very important to find the right therapist for you at the right time. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.
